Quick FAQ

How should I use the test and read the results?
Dip the test strip in urine and read the results within the specified time (typically 1–2 minutes). Compare the color of each test pad with the color chart provided. Do not interpret results after the recommended reading time.
What should I do if I get a positive or unclear result?
This product is for screening purposes only. If you obtain a positive or unclear result, repeat the test with a new strip. If the result persists, consult a healthcare professional for further evaluation.
Are there any factors that can affect the results?
Yes. Results may be affected by factors such as medications, vitamin C intake, hydration level, and contamination (e.g., during menstruation). This test is not intended to diagnose medical conditions.

Key Parameters & Clinical Significance

Color Parameter Clinical Significance
Leukocytes Leukocytes (white blood cells) are not normally present in significant amounts in urine. Their presence indicates inflammation or infection in the urinary tract.
· Positive leukocyte results may suggest a urinary tract infection (UTI) or other inflammatory conditions of the kidneys or urinary system.
· However, results may be affected by contamination (e.g., vaginal discharge), leading to false positives.
Urine leukocyte testing is useful as a screening indicator for infection or inflammation.
Nitrite Nitrite in urine is not normally present and is formed when certain bacteria convert nitrate to nitrite.
· Positive nitrite results may indicate a urinary tract infection (UTI) caused by nitrate-reducing bacteria (e.g., many Gram-negative organisms).
· However, a negative result does not rule out infection, as not all bacteria produce nitrite or urine may not have remained in the bladder long enough for conversion.
Urine nitrite testing is useful as a screening indicator for UTIs.
Urobilinogen Urobilinogen is a byproduct formed from the breakdown of bilirubin in the intestine and is partially reabsorbed into the bloodstream and excreted in urine.
· Elevated urobilinogen levels in urine may indicate liver dysfunction (e.g., hepatitis, cirrhosis) or hemolytic conditions due to increased bilirubin turnover.
Urinary urobilinogen testing is therefore useful as a screening indicator of liver function and hemolytic disorders.
Protein Protein is normally absent or present only in very low amounts in urine. The presence of protein (proteinuria) may indicate abnormal kidney function.
· Elevated urine protein may suggest kidney disease, such as glomerular damage, or conditions like hypertension and diabetes.
· Temporary increases may occur due to exercise, fever, stress, or dehydration.
Urine protein testing is useful as a screening marker for renal function.
pH Urine pH reflects the acidity or alkalinity of urine, which can vary depending on diet, metabolism, and overall health.
· Acidic urine (low pH) may be associated with high-protein diets, metabolic acidosis, or conditions such as diabetes.
· Alkaline urine (high pH) may indicate urinary tract infections, certain kidney disorders, or a diet high in vegetables.
Urine pH testing is useful as a general indicator of metabolic and renal status.
Blood The urine blood test detects the presence of red blood cells (hematuria), hemoglobin, or myoglobin. These are not normally present in urine.
· Positive results may indicate urinary tract conditions such as infection, kidney stones, trauma, or more serious renal disorders.
· It may also be associated with hemolysis or muscle injury (myoglobinuria).
Urine blood testing is useful as a screening indicator for urinary tract and kidney abnormalities.
Specific Gravity Urine specific gravity reflects the concentration of dissolved substances in urine, indicating the kidney’s ability to concentrate or dilute urine.
· Elevated specific gravity may indicate dehydration, reduced fluid intake, or the presence of substances such as glucose or protein in urine.
· Low specific gravity may suggest overhydration, impaired kidney concentrating ability, or certain renal disorders.
Urine specific gravity is useful as a general indicator of hydration status and renal function.
Ketone Ketones are produced when the body breaks down fat for energy due to insufficient glucose availability. They are normally absent or present only in trace amounts in urine.
· Elevated urine ketones (ketonuria) may indicate uncontrolled diabetes (especially diabetic ketoacidosis), prolonged fasting, starvation, or low-carbohydrate diets.
Urine ketone testing is useful as a screening tool for metabolic imbalance, particularly in monitoring diabetes.
Bilirubin Bilirubin is a breakdown product of hemoglobin that is processed by the liver and excreted into bile. It is not normally present in urine.
· Positive urine bilirubin indicates the presence of conjugated (direct) bilirubin and may suggest liver dysfunction (e.g., hepatitis, cirrhosis) or biliary obstruction.
· It is often an early indicator of hepatobiliary disease, sometimes appearing before clinical symptoms such as jaundice.
Urinary bilirubin testing is therefore useful as a screening marker for liver and biliary system disorders.
Glucose Glucose is normally filtered by the kidneys and almost completely reabsorbed, so it is typically absent or present only in very low levels in urine.
· It may also occur in renal glycosuria, where kidney reabsorption is impaired despite normal blood glucose levels.
Urine glucose testing is useful as a screening tool for glucose metabolism abnormalities, but confirmation with blood glucose testing is recommended for diagnosis.
Microalbumin Microalbumin refers to small amounts of albumin in urine, which are not normally detectable by standard protein tests.
· Elevated microalbumin (microalbuminuria) is an early indicator of kidney damage, particularly in patients with diabetes or hypertension.
· It may also reflect increased risk of cardiovascular disease.
Urine microalbumin testing is useful as a sensitive marker for early renal impairment, and early detection allows timely intervention to prevent disease progression.
Creatinine Creatinine is a waste product of muscle metabolism that is produced at a relatively constant rate and excreted in urine.
· Urine creatinine levels are used to assess kidney function and to help interpret other urine test results (e.g., protein-to-creatinine or albumin-to-creatinine ratios).
· Low urine creatinine may indicate dilute urine or impaired kidney function, while higher levels may reflect concentrated urine or increased muscle mass.
Urine creatinine testing is useful as a reference marker for urine concentration and renal function.
Ascorbic Acid(Vitamin C) Ascorbic acid is not a diagnostic marker, but its presence in urine can interfere with certain test results.
· Elevated urinary ascorbic acid may lead to false negative results for parameters such as glucose, blood, nitrite, and bilirubin.
· It typically reflects recent intake of vitamin C supplements or vitamin-rich foods.
Urine ascorbic acid testing is useful as an interference indicator, helping ensure accurate interpretation of other test parameters.
